The project was part of the exhibition Horizon Garden - Gardd Gorweilion at Ty Pawb (28th Jan until 8th April 2023), aiming at exploring community and alternative growing in response to societal urgencies such as climate change, social isolation, loneliness and food poverty.
Tablecloth As a Toolkit focuses on some case studies included in the Arte Útil archive featured in the Useful Art Space - Lle Celf Defnyddiol to become a resource to activate the use of the 'exhibition as a manual'.
The case studies analysed are GRAFT - A soil based syllabus, Company Drinks and Granby Winter Garden ( as part of Granby four streets regeneration project) as well as growing project in the area of Wrexham such as Incredible Edible, Erlas Victorian Walled Garden and others.
They provided the provocations and concepts to create the tablecloth to be used as a convivial device to facilitate the design of new projects to be applied in Wrexham.
Informing the projects are also other case studies included in the Arte Útil archive such as Vetch Veg, Diego de la Vega Cofee Coop and Crossroads Community (The Farm).
The Tablecloth is realised of sustainable fabric/textile and it sits 8 to 10 people. It has printed keywords and/or provocations, such as questions about food production, access, distribution, agriculture, housing, labour, care and so on.
